Chamber Cuts Ribbon For Secur Storage Expansion
The Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for Secur Storage on Thursday February 2nd. The business is located at 301 West Avenue G. It is operated by Daulton, Dustin, and Doyle Brewer.
Hope Watermelon Festival
August 2026 brings the fiftieth Hope Watermelon Festival. Our chamber has staged every one of them since the 1977 revival, and the original version predates that by another half century. Around 50,000 people will come through Hope Fair Park across three days, five visitors for every resident of the town. Nothing else on the Hope, AR festival calendar comes close.
Things to Do in Hope, Arkansas
People call the chamber every week to ask what to do in Hope, AR. The honest answer surprises them. Two museums here trace one president’s childhood. A loudspeaker pioneer earned a third museum of his own. The biggest watermelons on record grew in the fields outside town, and the town that served as Arkansas’s Confederate capital is fifteen minutes up the road.

Bill Clinton was born in this town. So were Mike Huckabee and his daughter Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Three governors came out of a town of 9,000, and nobody here is modest about it.

Chamber Hosts Coffee, Introduces Officer Candidates
The first Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce Community Coffee of 2017 was hosted by the Chamber Board on Wednesday January 4th. The Coffee introduced the proposed board members and officers. The proposed slate of officers (pictured below) include Christy Burns Treasurer, Scott Jester 2nd Vice-President, Mitch Bobo President, and Rodney Orr 1st Vice-President.
